Business Description
The Group has two trading subsidiaries: Wallgate Services Limited, Hot Deals Limited and Best Price Trading Limited. Focusing on the consumer electronics market, Wallgate is a well established and successful provider of outsourcing services to major manufacturers, retailers and distributors with whom it works in partnership to maximize their net asset recovery percentage on consumer returns. Best Price Trading Limited and Hot Deals Limited are the internet retailing arms of Wallgate. The Group operates from a head office in Farnworth near Bolton. It utilizes a small amount of warehouse space and office space of approximately 3k sq ft. There are additional office facilities in Kensington, London.
Wallgate Services Limited
Through its 'RevShare' service Wallgate provides an end-to-end solution for returns management including store collection, inventory management, refurbishment, repackaging and remarketing of consumer returns back across all marketing channels including online, principally for higher value consumer electronics goods. Wallgate has a wide customer base for remarketed products which includes major high street and online retailers.
Hot Deals Limited and Best Price Trading Limited
In November 2005 trading on the internet commenced through a separate company Hot Deals Limited. At around the same time Wallgate Services acquired Best Price which was a customer at the time. The focus on this part of the business is more on branded products and, particularly with Best Price, branded consumer electronics. A large part of the company's sales originate through the companies' eBay shops "Hitchens-Hot-Deals" and "BestPrice-Trading". The company also runs a separate e-commerce platform www.hitchenshotdeals.co.uk in parallel and is in the process of developing a stand alone site for BestPrice Trading too. Such has been the success of the e-commerce side of the business in a short space of time that the directors were invited to speak at the Internet Retailer Conference, and also at the Retail Business Show at Earls Court.
